Aalborg Municipality, DenmarkRe: Turf white clover
The municipality of Aalborg decided in 2000 to resow some of the football fields in Aalborg with Eco Master to see whether this type of grass seed mixture with turf white clover was ideally suitable for our football fields.
We examined the use together with the football club and the research centre and agreed that we wanted to go ahead with this project. All our tests have shown that the football players are enthusiastic about the football fields that are nice and green all year. Also, we see much less weeds in the fields due to the aggressive growth of the Eco Master, and a worst case scenario that we feared could happen did not occur. Due to all these positive experiences we have today resown 17 football fields with Eco Master resulting in very satisfied unions. We can see today that we have succeeded in what we believed in, and that the prophecies of the sceptics have been proven wrong.
In 2003 we included this in our garden chafer project using topdressing material. The result was very positive, and therefore we continue this. Two of our football fields were completely destroyed by garden chafers. Today the sward has been fully reestablished on these two football fields (as shown on the picture).
We are establishing 10 new football fields in Aalborg, 9 of which have been sown with Eco Master. We expect a lot from this project. In conclusion I believe in our tests.
